Guerrero Old Man Mask #2009.01.047 SOLD

This "el viajito" or the old man mask was created by the master carver Martin Catalan Lazado from Zumpango del Rio, Guerrero. His finish has a nice sheen which brings out the rich facial tones, pink cheeks, pink lips, brown eyes and white eyebrows and moustache. This mask is made to be used in the Danza de la Viajita but can also be used in many other dances that include an old pink skinned man. It was purchased from the carver in 2009. It is unused, made from copal wood and is in excellent condition. The mask is signed Martin and viejito on the back. Size H 8”, W6 1/2”, D 4 1/2”. Weight 1 1/2 lbs. SOLD
