Guerrero dance mask of old woman | 2009.01.007

This wood mask with enamel paint depicts an old lady “viajita” and is used in a number of traditional dances. It is a woman with a pink face and blue eyes with white eyebrows. She has white hair with pin curls on the forehead and sides, red lips with red age lines. This mask was purchased from the carver Cresenciano Calvario Mendoza from Ayuhualolco , Guerrero in 2009. It is unused and in excellent condition. Size H 8 ½”, W 7”, D 6”.
