A “karahut” breast ornament worn in the Abelam and Maprik area of Papua New Guinea. It is made from plaited fiber, shells, wild boar tusks and painted with natural pigments. This item came from the collection of the World Museum in Tulsa Oklahoma and was reportedly from the 1960s. It is complete and in excellent condition. H 14” W 4 ½ D 2”, weight 12 lbs. Stand included.
