Indonesian Wayang Kulit Shadow puppet of Jayadratha #2012.02.002

A vintage Indonesian Wayang Kulit Shadow puppet of Jayadratha the King of Sindhu. He is a character in the mahābhārata epic. The puppet has a red face with black hair, a long pointed nose, gold skin and intricately cut out clothing. It is made from parchment with wooden rods. This puppet shows some wear from use, but is in very fine condition and was collected in the 1960’s-1980s. H 27” W 29” w/arms extended weight 1 lb.
